#Diezz, the brand that’s got it all!

Birth of a range of cycling helmets

World famous for its ski helmets, the French brand #Diezz is attacking cycling helmets with the firm intention of making a name for itself in this very promising urban market.

Since the pandemic, cycling has exploded: + 39% according to a survey by the Vélo et Territoires association. In Paris, this increase is 78% compared to 2019. Enough to boost bicycle sales, more than 2,789,000 two-wheelers were purchased in France in 2021, and especially helmets.

Because the use of the bicycle is not without risk. Over the past twelve months, the number of cyclists killed on the road has increased by 29% compared to 2019, to expect 242 victims. Today wearing a helmet is compulsory for children and is becoming the norm for adults, especially those driving around town.

What confirms the conviction of Sandra Arbet, the CEO of the Annecy company, GB Diffusion, of the interest of embarking on this promising market. A small revolution for this company founded in 1996 which first established itself as a reference in the visor ski helmet. It was in 1999 that its founder created the #Diezz brand, which has won over many French sports brands thanks to the “in house” design quality of its products, their design and the technologies offered, combined with a very good quality-price mix. balance. Assets that appeal to demanding skiers attached to the combination of safety, comfort and aesthetics.

In 2001 GB diffusion became the exclusive distributor of the American ski glove brand Gordini and then created, after various stages of development, its own visors incorporating Activlux technology. Today the helmets and accessories designed or distributed by GB Diffusion are marketed in 325 resorts to 400 customers, specialized chains, independents, at Le Vieux Campeur or in Club Med mountain clubs.

Cycling to deseasonalize activity

In 2021, Sandra and François Régis Arbet, a couple of mountaineers very invested in the Alpine territory, decided to buy GB Diffusion. Very attracted by the entrepreneurship that she encountered on a daily basis as a banker within Groupe BPCE, it was Sandra who took over the management of the company. In a few months, she boosted the activity and built a strategic plan which notably included the launch of a commercial website and the creation of a new design and distribution activity for helmets intended for soft mobility such as bicycles, scooters, skate boards. , gyropods… “We wanted to take advantage of our know-how to deseasonalize our activity. Cycling very quickly imposed itself”, explains Sandra Arbet. Another project, revamping the #Diezz logo and adopting a new baseline: Move with style.

A new range of products starting with the launch in June of the first models equipped with leather straps and available in four colours: lagoon blue, pearl white, black and titanium and for the visors: blue, red, silver and gold to match its own way. Thanks to an unrivaled fit, its 10 vents, the #Diezz helmet is suitable for all heads. Its photochromic Activlux visor (CAT 0-2) provides great visual comfort and optimal protection. It also allows its user to keep their glasses without discomfort. It meets the CE EN1078 Class B standard and combines comfort and safety. Indeed, the helmet is very light for a helmet with a visor (425g) while being safe because it is made of ABS, a thermoplastic polymer renowned for its extreme resistance and a great capacity to absorb shocks in the event of a fall. With its French design and manufacturing in Italy, #Diezz confirms its desire to reduce greenhouse emissions and help preserve the environment.

“I am very proud to be able to offer distribution specialists a high quality middle market product, designed in France and produced in Italy, which was lacking on the market. “I say this clearly to our future distributor partners: we are ready, we are very committed to sharing value, our team is very mobilized and will be able to meet the challenges of the sector and the expectations of customers”, concludes Sandra Arbet.
